We’ll Always Have Paris… Part II

This is the last post about the trip. The last two days we were in Paris. I will make a list at the end of several places that my friends recommended us, so you can have more information.

Day #3:

– This day we took the Bus Tour as we did in the other destinations. We wanted to have a full tour so we could do a little sightseeing in Paris. We went around the major tourist’s attractions and then we got down at Champs Elysees. Since it was raining we took this day to do some shopping and visit the stores. We walked through Rue de Rivoli and Rue de St Honoré, there were a lot of high end boutiques so we just strolled around and did some window shopping.

– After walking all around, we had diner at Café Fouquet’s, a nice restaurant in Champs Elysées. We didn’t want to have diner in this area because I consider it too “tourist-y” for me, but we did want to have a nice view of Paris at night. The food was delicious, but too expensive for the things we ate. We had escargots, tomato salad, onion soup, a bottle of rose wine and we paid around 250 Euros, so I would not recommend eating on these street unless you are looking for a high end gourmet place with a view.

Day #4:

– We took this day to go see the last things in Paris because we were leaving in the afternoon. However, I do recommend taking one of the 4 days to visit Versailles, it is one of the most beautiful museums and gardens you could ever see in your life.

– On the last day we visit the big department stores in Paris: Printemps and Galeries Lafayette. You can find almost anything in there, every brand has its own piece of landscape in these stores. I found the most amazing Hipanema bracelets in Galeries Lafayette.

– After doing some shopping we took the subway and visit Trocadero, and area made up of a square which incorporates four museums and the Palais de Chaillot, it is located across the Seine River and it “frames” views of the Eiffel Tower. I think this is the best place to take photos of the Eiffel Tower, the views are spectacular. Since it was also raining this day, we took some photos and then head down to Café du Trocadero to have lunch and enjoye the views of the Eiffel Tower at the same time. The food is not good at all, but I will go for the views and for a cup of coffee, dessert or a glass of wine.

– Two restaurants that I recommend with delicious food and a outstanding views of the Eiffel Tower are Chez Francis and La Tour D’Argent, which I recommend making reservations as soon as you know you’re visiting Paris. Chez Francis is more a brasserie and La Tour D’Argent is a more gourmet and high end restaurant.

– After having lunch we walked around Avenue Montagne, visit La Madeleine, and headed back to the hotel and then sadly the airport.

Recommendations:

1.Le Soufflé, of course the best soufflés in Paris.

2. Café Imperial, for Gourmet Crepes.

3. Pizza Pino.

4. Le Relais De L’Entrecote.

5. Budha Bar, for a fun night out.

6. L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon.

7. Maxims, a very typical Parisian Gourmet and classy restaurant.

8. And of course you can’t miss any of the restaurants of Alain Ducasse.

9. The Smith’s Bakery, a wonderful and beautiful Parisian bake shop.

10. Le Vin Qui Dance. 

Este es el último post del viaje! Los dos últimos días en París. Al final del post les dejo una lista de lugares que me recomendaron varios amigos, no conocí todos por falta de tiempo (obvio) pero les dejo las recomendaciones.

DÍA #3:

– Como estaba lloviendo, este día aprovechamos para subirnos al “turibus” y ver lo más emblemático de París, y también para ir de “shopping.” Nos bajamos en Champs Elysées, caminamos todo Rue de Rivoli y Rue de St Honoré, hay millones de tiendas en esta zona, y tiendas de diseñador, por eso sólo conocimos las tiendas, que hay muchas que valen la pena. Aunque no puedan comprar en estas tiendas, porque la verdad es que son carísimas, es bueno visitarlas, más si les gusta la moda, pueden ver lo que se está usando, cómo lo visten, etc. y poder comprar lo mismo pero más barato en tiendas como H&M o Forver 21 o Zara. Yo hago eso siempre, bueno excepto con los zapatos, tengo una afición con ellos no lo puedo negar, o también lo lentes que vale la pena invertir en ellos o alguna prenda que les guste mucho pero que sepan que durará más de una temporada de moda. 

– Después de caminar, cenamos en un restaurante que se llama Café Fouquet’s, un lugar muy bonito en Champs Elysées. La verdad no queríamos comer por esta zona porque se me hace muy turística, pero los restaurantes tienen terrazas bonitas y las vistas son padrísimas. La cena estuvo rica, pero un poco cara, pedimos sopa de cebolla, los famosos escargots, una ensalada y una botella de vino rosado y pagamos cerca de 250 euros. 

DÍA #4:

– Este día lo aprovechamos para ver las últimas cosas de París, pues nos íbamos en la tarde y no queríamos desaprovechar nada. Sin embargo, les recomiendo que si tienen un cuarto día completo, visiten Versailles. Es uno de los lugares que vale la pena visitar aunque sea una vez en la vida. 

– Lo primero que hicimos fue visitar las tiendas departamentales de París: Printemps y Galerías Lafayette. Pueden encontrar infinidad de cosas y marcas en estas tiendas, de verdad hay de todo! Yo me volví loca con las pulseras Hipanema, había muchísimos estilos y muy bonitos. 

– Después del shopping nos subimos al metro y bajamos en la estación de Trocadero. Trocadero es una plaza de forma cuadrada que se compone de cuatro museos y el Palacio Chaillot, el cual consta de dos “alas” dobladas que encuadran en perfecta armonía la Torre Eiffel. Creo que es uno de los mejores lugares para tomar fotos de la Torre Eiffel. Como estaba lloviendo no pudimos caminar por ahí pero nos sentamos en un restaurante que se llama Café Du Trocadero, la comida no estaba muy rica pero la vista estaba espectacular. Yo les recomiendo este sitio para tomarse un café, una copa de vino o probar uno de los postres y disfrutar de la vista. 

– Otros dos restaurantes que les recomiendo con vistas padrísimas de la Torre Eiffel y de París son : Chez Francis y La Tour D’Argent, les sugiero hacer reservaciones con anticipación porque se llena mucho especialmente el segundo. Chez Francis es una brasserie y la comida es más casual, pero La Tour D’Argent es comida gourmet y el restaurante es muy elegante. 

– Después de comer caminamos por Avenue Montagne, visitamos La Madeleine y nos regresamos al hotel y tristemente, al aeropuerto. 

Recomendaciones extras:

1. Le Soufflé, por supuesto los mejores soufflés de París.

2. Café Imperial, deliciosas crepas gourmet.

3. Pizza Pino.

4. Le Relais De L’Entrecote.

5. Budha Bar, excelente bar para en la noche.

6. L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon.

7. Maxims, un restaurante muy clásico, elegante y totalmente Parisino.

8. Les recomiendo visitar aunque sea uno de los restaurantes de Alain Ducasse.

9. The Smith’s Bakery, una panadería super bonita y muy Parisina.

10. Le Vin Qui Dance.
